چکیده
The removal of formaldehyde as a toxic substance from aqueous solutions is particular importance. In this research, sequencing batch rotating-bed bioreactor (SBRB) was used on laboratory scale for biodegradation synthetic wastewater. reactor made plexiglas with cylindrical shape. Kaldnes media were placed in rotating basket the reactor. effects concentration (500–1500 mg/L), hydraulic retention time (HRT) (8, 15, 24 hours), and injection hydrogen peroxide (0.1-0.5 mM) performance investigated. results showed that SBRB, at an HRT hours inlet 1000 mg/L, efficiencies chemical oxygen demand (COD) 99.2% 92%, respectively, while without bed, efficiency COD found to be 95% 83%, respectively. By adding 0.3 mM operation SBRB 8 improvement (4% 22%, respectively) observed. Accordingly, stimulation could considered high-performance process corresponding short HRT.

Enhanced Bioethanol Production in Batch Fermentation by Pervaporation Using a PDMS Membrane Bioreactor
The integration of batch fermentation and membrane-based pervaporation process in a membrane bioreactor (MBR) was studied to enhance bioethanol production compared to conventional batch fermentation operated at optimum condition. For this purpose, a laboratory-scale MBR system was designed and fabricated. Dense hydrophobic Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membrane was used for pervaporation. For fer...
متن کاملBiodegradation of high concentrations of phenol by baker’s yeast in anaerobic sequencing batch reactor
Background: Phenol, as a pure substance, is used in many fields because of its disinfectant, germicidal, local anesthetic, and peptizing properties. Aqueous solutions of phenol are produced as waste in industries and discharged into the environment. Therefore, elevated concentrations of phenol may be found in air or water because of industrial discharge or the use of phenolic products. Method: ...
متن کاملBiodegradation of m-cresol by aerobic granules in a sequencing batch reactor.
The present study was aimed at the development of aerobic granules in a sequencing batch reactor for the biodegradation of m-cresol. The reactor was started with 100 mg L(-1)of m-cresol. Aerobic granules first appeared within 1 month of the start-up of the reactor. The granules were large and strong and had a compact structure. The diameter of stable granules on day 200 was in the range of 1.5 ...
متن کاملBiodegradation of Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonate by Sequencing Batch Reactor in Sanitary Wastewater
Introduction: Detergents lead to many environmental problems. The main aim of this study was to evaluate sequencing batch reactor (SBR) efficiency on Linear alkyl benzene sulfonate (LAS) removal. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, to investigate the removal efficiency of LAS, a SBR reactor was used. A roughly 12-hour operating cycle was chosen which included the discharge time ...
